5 Characteristics That Make Turkish Towels Special
Turkish towels–sometimes called Peshtemal or Hammam towels–are made from Turkish Cotton, a premium cotton that has extra long fibers. Turkish towels are known to become even softer, fluffier, and more absorbent with successive washings. They can be used as bath towels, bathrobes, beach towels, scarves, table cloths, blankets and so much more!
Even though they’ve become quite popular recently, Turkish towels were being used for many years since the Ottoman Empire period. Dating back hundreds of years, they were originally designed to help Turkish Hammam bathers maintain their privacy. They have so many fine qualities which make them unique.
Quick drying: Turkish towels dry faster than a normal towel. Premium cotton’s long fibers open up with use and allow these light and thin towels to be highly absorbent.
Sand-free: You can shake the sands right off after a day at the beach! What’s more, they will not leave any fuzz on your body.
Absorbent: Did you know that they hold more than their own weight in water? Also, they air-dry super quickly. You can just hang them to dry and voilà!
Huge laid out, folds down small: The towels are very light (seriously). They roll up compactly and take up less space which makes them easier to carry around.
Odour-free: Turkish towels do not collect damp smells. Say goodbye to musty towel odors!
Fun-fact: Did you know that there are more than 20 ways to use a Turkish towel? Here are some of our favourites:
